Marina Bay Watch is done by a special, independent volunteer group, bringing people together to love our waters and to inspire stewardship for our environment. An NGO provider for Environmental Education programs in Singapore.

Its objectives are to promote public awareness and concern for a clean environment in Singapore, particularly to keep the waterways and riverbanks in Singapore clean and free of pollution.

*******************************************************************************************

Tourists will follow through the activities of regular volunteers' duties like launching boat (if the boat is on land), carrying essential stuff on board the boat, putting on life-jackets, picking rubbish along the way, reporting sighting (e.g. pollution and source, damages of public installation, etc.).

The scene of the Marina South and Singapore CBD Skyscape is majestic when viewed from the water. In one trip, visitors are able to encounter almost all the key installation in our waterfront:

Kallang Indoor Stadium, Singapore Sports Hub, Benjamin Sheares Bridge, Marina Barrage, Marina Bay Sand, Science Museum, NS Square, Esplanade -The Durians, Fullerton One, Parliament House, New Supreme Court Building, Victoria Hall with Sir Stamford Raffle’s statue, Boat Quay, Clarke Quay, The Central Shopping Mall, Singapore River godown converted entertainment spots, up to Greatworld City Mall at Kim Seng Bridge. A total of 14 renowned bridges in the Singapore River.

An experience a common folk does not get to see. Going through our volunteers’ duty on the boat, it gives a first-hand encounter of the effort our forefather, Mr. Lee Kuan Yew, and Singapore Government, to convert a smelly filthy blackish water, to clean clear freshwater. This is the Marina Reservoir, our biggest reservoir covering about one-sixth of the land space of our Nation Island.

What a different perspective of this whole CityScape as viewed from the water compared to the land. Marina Reservoir is now fully freshwater. Otters and other sea animals are often sighted in the basins. Remember to take as many photographs and videos as available.

On return to land HQ, tourists will need to remove the rubbish collected, recover, and wash the boat if required. Packed lunches & drinks will be provided. Tourists can relax at the beach in front of the HQ with beautiful views of Kallang Basin with Pebble Bay Condo and Singapore Sports Hub in the background.
